Changes Ahead for the Honda Civic and Entire Lineup

Honda Civic Hybrid image Honda is known around the world as a leader when it comes to fuel efficient cars. But it seems that Honda will be refocusing on building less expensive and more fuel-efficient vehicles in the near future. As hybrids and other advanced fuel efficient technologies typically cost a premium, Honda will be focusing on developing cars that don’t cost an arm and a leg.

Ultimately, Honda will not only be focusing on the products themselves, but Honda dealers Jackson suggest they will rather be focusing on the development process. This means examining each component that goes into a new vehicle and gauging its environmental impact.

This strategy will yield a new Honda Civic that will be smaller, lighter, as well as more fuel efficient. Already, Honda’s plans to introduce V8 engines and rear-wheel drive platforms for other models have been scrapped to the dismay of some customers at a used car dealer San Francisco. The emphasis instead will be on reducing weight, and improving upon existing hybrid technology.

The next Honda Civic was initially going to be larger than the current model, but that will most certainly change as Honda instead would like to reduce the weight of the Civic and focus on interior roominess without expanding the car’s overall size. Unfortunately, Westbrook CT Honda dealers recognize that this new direction is expected to cause delays concerning the new product’s release date.

Changing the Honda Civic is not an isolated endeavor. Since many vehicles share the Civic platform, such as the Honda CR-V, changes will eventually be felt throughout Honda’s lineup.

Honda CR-Z to Debut at Tokyo Motor Show

Honda CR-Z concept The Honda CR-Z is perhaps one of automaker’s most highly anticipated vehicles in the foreseeable future. Financial constrains have stalled plenty of vehicles under development, including the replacement for the NSX supercar. But it appears that Honda is continuing to work on the CR-Z hybrid sports car, which is due to make its debut in October at the Tokyo Motor Show.

Powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine and an electric motor, the Honda CR-Z is expected to produce about 140 horsepower. Honda Financing St Louis says this front-wheel drive vehicle will also feature a fuel efficient continuously variable transmission. Already it’s clear that the CR-Z is intended to be the successor to the popular Honda CRX.

There are rumors that the Honda CR-Z could also be powered by a larger 1.8-liter four cylinder as well. Washington DC Honda dealers suggest the larger engine may be destined for the U.S., while other markets will get a more fuel efficient engine. Either way, the model is being designed and engineered by Honda’s European design studio which according to Honda New York may indicate the car’s potential among European car buyers.

The upcoming CR-Z is expected to be similar to the original concept car that was revealed in 2007 (pictured above). With its oversized grille and bold, wedge-like shape, one Honda dealer Los Angeles expects the Honda CR-Z will likely retain this aggressive look and hatchback design. Needless to say, the design is definitely reminiscent of the sport CRX compact.

Honda Aims to Remain in the Black

honda dealership The Honda Motor Corporation has been on relatively solid ground as auto sales declined, thanks to its affordable and fuel efficient lineup. But Honda is still working hard to combat dropping profits and more recently Honda has vowed to remain in the black during this fiscal year.

Currently, Honda, Japan’s second largest automaker, is projecting a profit of about 10 billion yen for the current fiscal year. Executives remain confident that they will be able to meet these expectations, which are said to be conservative. With strong performance in emerging markets such as China, South Bay Honda Service believes that Honda is poised to remain in the back, even as Toyota and Nissan forecast substantial net losses.

Honda’s biggest advantage is its lineup. While consumers have become cost-conscious and desire more economically friendly vehicles, Honda Service Manassas offers vehicles that are uniquely suited to these requirements. Among Honda’s latest models is the Insight, which has been dubbed “American’s most affordable hybrid.” However, with demand for this particular model skyrocketing, Honda may have difficulty due to production limitations.

One reason that Honda expects to remain in the black this fiscal year is because the automaker has been actively cutting costs. While a used car dealer St Louis recognizes that not everyone is happy about these cost cutting efforts, this process has included cuts to motorsports, research and development.

Honda Insight Strives to be Hybrid Leader

2009 Honda Insight Although Honda has long been synonymous with green technology and fuel efficiency, it has recently fallen behind Toyota in market share due to the ultra popular Toyota Prius. In an attempt to regain lost ground in the hybrid segment, Honda is releasing the all-new Insight, a standalone hybrid model that is already the most affordable hybrid in the U.S.

Honda offers a wide range of hybrid models, but took a very different approach with the Insight. While the Civic and Accord have gasoline-powered alternatives, the Insight is a hybrid-only model, much like the Prius. Louisville Honda dealers believe that this will help solidify its eco-friendly image. In addition, while Civic and Accord hybrids are more expensive than gasoline models, the Insight has no lower priced alternative.

Starting at less than $20,000, the Honda Insight seems to be priced just right, as new car shoppers among Honda Washington DC dealers have already found the price tag to be quite reasonable. It’s more affordable than the Prius, and it also helps to narrow the gasoline-hybrid price gap. Plus, getting over 44 miles per gallon on a tank of gas will almost certainly be enough to get buyers to take notice of the new Honda hybrid.

The styling of the Honda Insight may not be for everyone, but will certainly let onlookers know that you’re driving a hybrid. The sloping windshield and prominent hatchback add to the vehicle’s aerodynamics, but it also makes for a distinctive looking exterior. Some will  say that the styling looks suspiciously similar to the Prius, but according to Los Angeles used Honda dealers the styling cues used on the Insight are also found in other Honda models of the past, making the Insight uniquely Honda.

Driving the Honda Insight is quite an experience. The dash is filled with green and blue instrumentation, adding to the futuristic feel of this tech-filled car. Drivers that are determined to maximize fuel efficiency can utilize the eco-button, which alters throttle response and the air conditioning system to minimize gasoline consumption. The Insight also features a Continuously Variable Transmission that Honda Akron says also aids fuel economy.

As the most affordable hybrid on the market, Honda Texarkana is confident that the Insight will be able to help Honda recapture lost market share. With efficiency assured, we expect that the Insight will help Honda achieve that goal. But with the all-new 2010 Prius coming to showrooms as well, it will be interested to see whether being affordable is enough to maintain an edge in this developing segment.

Honda Manufacturing Receives Energy Star

Honda Motor Energy Star Award Honda has long been known as a leader in producing environmentally friendly products, thanks to its full range of fuel-efficient, hybrid vehicles. But its products are the only thing that makes Honda a green company. Honda’s manufacturing facilities in Ohio and Alabama have just received Energy Star awards from the Environmental Protection Agency for their ability to reduce energy consumption.

The Honda plants in Ohio and Alabama produce a number of passenger cars and light trucks. These facilities have successful reduced CO2 emissions per vehicle, reaching the lowest levels since Honda began measuring emissions in 2001. San Francisco Honda Dealers point out that these plants are crucial for producing many popular vehicles such as the Honda Accord and Honda CR-V, as well as the Acura TL and RDX.

Improving energy efficiency is one of the biggest objectives for Honda according to one Pittsburgh Honda dealer. Automobile production requires a significantly amount of energy, but these plants have successfully been able to reduce this harmful consumption year after year. This has been achieved by reducing electricity of plastic injection molding machinery, as well as from curbing carbon dioxide by about 80,000 lbs. per year at the Marysville based plant. The Easy Liberty plant has reduced carbon dioxide emissions by about 508,000 lbs. per year. As the greenest Honda dealership five years running, Carson Honda dealer is prod that Honda is a company that takes corporate responsibility a priority.

Among the ways Honda Manufacturing proactively tried to cut wasted energy was to monitor energy use between shifts and during breaks, ensuring machines were turned off when not in use. There is also an intelligent paint booth technology that controls temperature and humidity within the painting facility to further curb CO2. Lastly, Honda facilities are based here in the U.S., which also cuts travel time and additional waste when transporting products to customers in North America.
